Ireland's unemployment rate unexpectedly fell to 4.2% in February, down from 4.5% in January, despite weaker economic conditions internationally. The Central Statistics Office reports that the number of unemployed people decreased to 119,300 in February from 129,300 in January. The youth unemployment rate also fell to 10.5% in February from 11.7% in January.
