Health Canada plans to ban all use of strychnine poison by September, following public consultations on its use. The poison, which is sometimes utilized as a wildlife management tool, has been used in Alberta for controlling wolf populations. The announcement was made during a conference call with Health Canada officials and stakeholder groups.
