Chhattisgarh state government forms State Investigation Agency (SIA) to combat terrorism and Naxalism, creating 74 new posts including a Superintendent of Police. The SIA will work as the state's nodal agency for coordinating with the National Investigation Agency (NIA). This decision follows a review meeting on Left Wing Extremism chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in January, where he aimed to end Naxal menace in the next three years.
