Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announces new measures in Budget 2024 to support struggling families with debt. These include increasing repayment programmes for new loans from 12 months to 24 months and abolishing the £90 debt relief charge for around 40,000 families, which will be effective from 6 April 2024. The Chancellor aims to help alleviate the cost-of-living crisis and reduce the financial burden on vulnerable households.
