CBS is developing a new daytime soap opera called "The Gates," featuring a predominantly Black cast - the first in 35 years. Written by Emmy-winning daytime veteran Michele Val Jean, the series will focus on a wealthy Black family living in a gated community, aiming to provide a fresh perspective on daytime drama. The show will be a collaboration between CBS Studios and the NAACP.
