Laois businessman, Niall Sheehy (59), who had a close relationship with a serving garda under investigation for suspected criminal activity, avoided jail time after the garda sent him confidential information from the garda Pulse system. Sheehy initially sought the information for his car sales business. The garda was not the focus of the investigation, which targeted wider activities of the officer. Sheehy was not directly targeted by the police operation.
