14-year-old boy killed after being hit by a Freightliner truck while riding a makeshift skateboard near his home in Catawba County, North Carolina. The teenager exited his driveway and entered the road, where he was struck by the southbound truck. The initial investigation did not indicate impairment or speed as contributing factors in the collision, and all occupants were wearing seatbelts. No charges will be filed against the driver.
