U.S. lawmakers have introduced legislation that could force TikTok to sell its U.S. operations to a non-Chinese buyer within six months or face a ban. The bill, known as the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, claims China's ByteDance poses a threat to national security and is the first significant legislative move towards banning or forcing ByteDance to divest the platform.
