In 2017, a skull was found along the banks of the Neosho River in Lyon County, and remained unidentified until 2022 when forensic evidence was submitted to Othram, a lab specializing in DNA analysis. Othram scientists developed a DNA profile and provided new leads to the investigation. Through follow-up DNA testing with family members, the deceased was identified as Randy Bruce Clayton, born on October 12, 1953.
