A Microsoft engineer warns US regulators about Copilot Designer, the company's AI image generator, saying it has systemic issues causing it to produce harmful and offensive images. Shane Jones, a principal software engineering lead at Microsoft, claims the tool can create violent, sexual, and copyright-violating images and has shared his concerns with the FTC. Jones alleges that Copilot Designer uses DALL-E 3, an image generator by OpenAI, which has a vulnerability that allows him to bypass its safeguards designed to prevent such content.
