Interim Zimbabwe CCC Secretary-General Tshabangu sworn in as Senator, recalling legislators and taking control of the party.
Sengezo Tshabangu, an interim secretary-general of Zimbabwe's opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), was sworn in as a Senator alongside 13 others. This came after Tshabangu and his allies recalled dozens of elected CCC legislators, effectively taking control of the two-year-old party from former leader Nelson Chamisa. Tshabangu has been accused of giving the ruling Zanu PF party a two-thirds parliamentary majority.
