Balclutha's SH1 bridge will undergo inspections from March 11-15, causing nighttime delays of up to 50 minutes per hour between 7pm and 6am. Motorists can cross at the top of each hour for 10-15 minutes at 30 km/h. The inspections are expected to take five nights, with possible repair work continuing into the following week. Overnight work was chosen for its lower traffic volume, with emergency vehicles granted access.
