20-year-old Malik Ali Smith from Farmington Hills has been charged with assault with intent to murder for allegedly attacking an 80-year-old man at a Farmington Hills YMCA on March 1. The elderly victim remains hospitalized in critical condition, while Smith faces a $250,000 cash/surety bond and a probable cause conference on March 13. The attack was condemned by Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald.
