Swedish defense firm Saab has begun construction of a new manufacturing facility in Haryana, India, for its Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon systems, marking the company's first foreign-owned defense production venture in India. The facility, located in Jhajjar, Haryana, received approval for 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and is set to produce the Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon for the Indian armed forces. Saab plans to partner with Indian suppliers and meet the requirements of India's 'Make in India' initiative, with production expected to start next year.
