Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) and Climate Fund Managers launched a $1.3bn energy fund, the Regional Transmission Infrastructure Financing Facility (RTIFF), to build cross-border and local electricity infrastructure. RTIFF aims for a first close of $500m in 2025, financed by public and private sector investors. The initiative addresses access to capital as a key barrier for energy infrastructure development.
