21 Justices now fill Nigeria's Supreme Court as of February 2020, reaching the required number according to Section 230(2) (b) of the 1999 Constitution. This was achieved under the tenure of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, CJN, who will retire in 2024. The number of justices had dwindled to 13 by February 2020, with several retiring or resigning, including Justices Paul Galumje, Sylvester Ngwuta, Olabode Rhode-Vivour, Mary Odili, Ejembi Eko, and Tanko Muhammad.
