The New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center's study reveals high rates of gun violence victimization in Black and American Indian/Alaskan Native communities. Nearly 1 in 3 Black adults and nearly half of AIAN adults keep firearms at home for personal protection, with nearly 1 in 5 regularly carrying firearms outside. The study highlights the need to understand how individuals in these communities engage with firearms to address gun violence.
