The New Jersey Devils have fired head coach Lindy Ruff and named assistant Travis Green as the interim replacement for the rest of the season. The decision was made after the team lost five of their last seven games and fell further out of playoff contention. Ruff was in his fourth season with the team and had a 128-125-28 record. Green, a former head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, will take over immediately ahead of the Devils' next game against Florida.
