NBN Co plans to enhance internet speeds for 9.1 million Australians by December, with upgrades to FTTP and HFC technologies.

NBN Co announced plans to enhance internet speeds for millions of Australians, with upgrades to download and upload speeds across several tiers. Faster connections will be available to users connected to fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) or hybrid fibre-coaxial (HFC) technologies. Although the upgrades won't cost any extra to internet service providers, there are concerns that consumers may still face increased costs. By December, 9.1 million homes and businesses could access the faster speeds, with an additional 1.1 million users receiving upgrades by the end of 2025.
