Nassau University Medical Center faces potential closure due to $560m losses and mismanagement.

Nassau University Medical Center, the county's only public hospital, is at risk of running out of money due to over $560m losses over the last five years, according to a new report. The hospital's financial situation is blamed on the mismanagement of hospital finances by Matthew Bruderman, a businessman appointed by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. If the hospital fails, thousands of employee retirement funds, patients, and jobs will be in jeopardy.
