Hacker group Mogilevich, who claimed to have hacked Epic Games and stolen 189GB of data, admitted that the whole ordeal was a scam. The group, which claimed to be a "ransomware-as-a-service," later revealed that they are professional fraudsters who took advantage of Epic Games' name to gain visibility and trick buyers into purchasing their tools. Epic Games had denied any evidence of a breach.
