Bombay High Court acquits GN Saibaba and five others of alleged Maoist links, overturning 2017 conviction.
The Bombay High Court has acquitted former Delhi University professor GN Saibaba and five others in a case involving alleged links to Maoists. The high court set aside the 2017 conviction, which led to their imprisonment since 2014, as the prosecution failed to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt against them. Saibaba and the others were accused of having ties to the banned CPI (Maoist) group through front organizations and possessing anti-national materials.
