Casualty star Derek Thompson has been cast in the second series of BBC's Blue Lights following his departure from the long-running medical drama. The 75-year-old actor will play retired police officer Robin Graham in the crime drama, which is set in Belfast. Thompson, who portrayed emergency department nurse Charlie Fairhead for nearly four decades, confirmed his departure from the soap due to reduced episodes at the BBC.
