Siemens plans to invest £100 million in a new rail centre in Chippenham, Wiltshire, set to replace its current factory. The new facility, expected to be operational by 2026, will develop modern conventional and digital railway systems and maintain 800 existing roles. Chancellor Jeremy Hunt described the investment as a "big boost" for Britain's manufacturing sector.
