Nigeria's Customs Service offers a 90-day window for vehicle importers to rectify unpaid import duties with a 25% penalty.
Nigeria's Customs Service announces a 90-day window for vehicle importers to rectify unpaid import duties on selected vehicle categories, in an effort to improve compliance and streamline import processes. Eligible vehicles include those without the required customs duty paid or those detained due to undervaluation. The initiative, which requires payment of import duty and a 25% penalty, does not release seized and condemned vehicles. Vehicle owners and importers must apply to the Zonal Coordinators and submit necessary documents to take advantage of the opportunity.
