New MacBook Air M3 supports Clamshell mode with two external monitors when lid closed.

The new MacBook Air with M3 processor supports Clamshell mode, allowing two external monitors when the lid is closed, unlike the M1 and M2 versions which only supported one. The internal display is deactivated and replaced by a 5K display at 60Hz, supporting professional drawing tablets and teleprompters. This feature is available through Thunderbolt connections, with one display designated as primary.
