Nagpur, Maharashtra's second capital, launched the first 'Zero Carbon Buildings Action Plan' to support India's 'Net Zero' target by 2070. The city's residential, commercial, and institutional buildings accounted for 58% of energy consumption and 56% of greenhouse gas emissions in 2017-18. The Zero Carbon Buildings Action Plan (ZCBAP) includes a holistic roadmap for public buildings, government-led affordable housing, commercial buildings, and private homes, aiming to achieve net-zero buildings city-wide by 2050.
