Malaysia, Brazil, India, and Thailand collaborate with DNDi to study repurposing nelfinavir for dengue treatment.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad reveals Malaysia, Brazil, India, and Thailand are conducting studies on repurposing the drug nelfinavir for dengue treatment. The drug, previously used for Hepatitis C and AIDS, is currently at the clinical trial stage. Collaboration with the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) aims to repurpose existing antiviral drugs for dengue disease.
