Lidl invests €15m in Ireland workforce pay rise, becoming highest-paying Irish supermarket.
Lidl has invested €15m to increase its workforce's pay by 6% in the Republic of Ireland, and an additional £3m in Northern Ireland. The pay rise takes effect from 1 March and makes Lidl the highest-paying supermarket in Ireland, with an average €2,000 annual pay increase per worker. The retailer has previously committed to paying the new living wage rate of €14.80 as recommended by the Living Wage Technical Group from October 2023.
