KFC in Dublin ordered to pay €2,000 compensation for discriminating against visually impaired woman with assistance dog.

KFC in Dublin City was ordered to pay €2,000 compensation to a visually impaired woman, Maria Rosita Apaza Machaca, after a staff member told her assistance dog had to leave the premises. The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) ruled that KFC operator, Scotco, discriminated against Machaca on grounds of disability. The WRC has directed the restaurant to have its draft Employee Code of Conduct and any training on discrimination ratified by a disability rights organisation.
