Irish anti-corruption activist Yasser Eljuboori, detained in Iraq, faces new charges related to his social media posts on Iraqi corruption.

Irish anti-corruption activist Yasser Eljuboori, detained in Iraq since last week, has been informed of two new charges against him and is not allowed to leave the country. Initially held at Baghdad airport, Eljuboori faced defamation charges which were dropped, but now faces new charges related to his social media posts criticizing Iraqi corruption. His wife, Laura Wickham, expressed her distress at the situation and urged the Iraqi authorities to release him.
