6 Hindu pilgrims were killed and 7 injured in Mauritius after a fire broke out during a religious ceremony for a Hindu festival. A wooden and bamboo cart carrying Hindu deity figurines caught fire after coming into contact with live electrical cables. The pilgrims were en route to the Grand Bassin Lake for the Shivaratri festival. The local authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
