Villagers in Kyrgyzstan's Tian-Shan mountains have created an artificial glacier to combat drought and provide water for their farms. The 5-meter tall and 20-meter long ice formation was made by redirecting water from the Tian-Shan peaks during autumn. As global warming causes natural glaciers to disappear, this artificial solution provides a source of water for livestock and irrigation in the surrounding area.
