Qatar plans to increase its liquefied natural gas (LNG) capacity by 13%, aiming to boost output from 77 million metric tons per year to 142 million tons by 2030. This would enable Qatar to control around a quarter of global LNG production, significantly increasing its influence and wealth. With this expansion, Qatar's annual LNG output could match Saudi Arabia's oil shipments.
