Serial rape suspect Richard Mantha, accused of 20 charges involving seven alleged victims, has new counsel and will not require the proceedings to continue in French, a judge heard. Mantha, 60, fired his previous lawyers mid-trial, leading to a temporary halt in the proceedings. The trial, which began in January, is now back on track, with defence lawyer Marc Crarer in the process of being retained through Legal Aid.
