30-year-old Leavenworth inmate Richey R. Farmer has been convicted of voluntary manslaughter for killing fellow inmate Scott W. Wilson with a plastic food tray and subsequent kicking and stomping. The incident occurred on August 2, 2021, in the Leavenworth County Detention Center, where Wilson later died at a Kansas City hospital. Farmer claimed self-defense, but the jury found him guilty.
