66-year-old Kevin Monahan has been sentenced to more than 25 years to life in prison for the second-degree murder of 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis, who was accidentally shot after entering Monahan's driveway in upstate New York. Monahan maintained that the fatal shot was an accident and that the shotgun was defective. Prosecutors argued that Monahan acted out of an irrational rage towards trespassers.
