New research suggests that rents are surging in commuter towns across the UK as cities become increasingly unaffordable. Data from property website Zoopla reveals that rents have risen twice as fast as earnings in six British cities and towns over the past three years, particularly in areas within commuting distance of major cities. Working from home has enabled many to rent larger properties further from city centers, leading to increased demand and rent prices in commuter towns.
