A federal court awarded $7.1m to the husband of an innocent woman killed in a 2018 high-speed pursuit in Tahlequah, after Cherokee Nation Deputy Marshal violated policies and state laws. The incident occurred when Aram Catron, who stole $100 worth of items from a Walmart, led police on a chase that ended in a fatal crash. Catron was sentenced to 26 years for manslaughter.
