Swiss National Bank Chairman Thomas Jordan to step down in September after 12 years.
Swiss National Bank Chairman Thomas Jordan, known for his unconventional monetary policy, will step down in September after 12 years at the helm. Jordan, who joined the bank in 1997, has been instrumental in managing the bank through major crises, including the financial crisis and the Credit Suisse crisis, and is credited with abandoning the policy of preventing the Swiss franc from rising too much against the euro in 2012. Martin Schlegel, the SNB vice chairman, is tipped as the most likely successor.
