Senedd Member Peredur Owen Griffiths requests UK Government to recognize St David's Day as a bank holiday for parity with Scotland.
Senedd Member Peredur Owen Griffiths has written to the UK Government, urging parity in bank holidays with Scotland by recognising St David's Day as a day off. Griffiths argued that this would allow the Welsh population a day to celebrate their nationhood, history, and unique culture. Wales currently has eight bank holidays compared to Scotland and Northern Ireland's nine, and Griffiths urged the government to "do the little things" and grant Wales the extra bank holiday.
