The Supreme Court will hear a plea to release Rohingya refugees illegally detained in India.

The Supreme Court will hear in March a plea seeking the release of Rohingya refugees who have been "illegally and arbitrarily" detained in jails and detention centres across India. The petition, filed by Priyali Sur, argues that many Rohingya refugees have been languishing in Indian prisons without any response from the Union of India. The apex court has agreed to list the matter for hearing in March.
