An Iraqi soldier was killed and four others wounded in a bomb explosion north of Baghdad during a search operation for Islamic State (IS) militants. This incident occurred in the Tarmiyah area, 40 km north of Baghdad, despite improvements in Iraq's security since IS's defeat in 2017. Remnants of the group continue to conduct sporadic guerrilla attacks against security forces and civilians.
