9 Colorado Parks and Wildlife rangers, including Jeffrey Hammond, were honored by the Park Law Enforcement Association for their acts of valor and life-saving efforts. Among the awardees, two rangers received the PLEA Valor Award, and seven received the PLEA Life Saving Award. Hammond rescued a woman from a submerged vehicle in freezing water, while others saved a woman and child who fell from a paddleboard.
