One man died, and seven others were rescued from a capsized boat in rough seas between Turneffe and English Caye on February 28th. The Belize Coast Guard was alerted and conducted a search and rescue operation, finding all eight men on board, who were Belizean nationals from San Pedro Town. The deceased victim was identified as Sylvio Camara, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
