Olam Group shares rose in half-year net profit.
Olam Group's shares surged after reporting a 15.4% increase in net profit for the second half, reaching S$230.8m, despite a full-year profit decline of 56%. The company attributed the rise to earnings before interest and tax (Ebit) growth and lower exceptional losses, as well as an 11.8% increase in sales volume. Olam also announced a share buyback programme for up to 5% of its outstanding shares.
