Manitoba MP Daniel Blaikie, NDP representative for Elmwood-Transcona, announced his resignation to join Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew's team as a senior advisor on intergovernmental affairs. Blaikie, who has been an NDP MP since 2015, will step down at the end of March after almost a decade in federal politics. Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh wished Blaikie well, stating that he will continue to "champion NDP values and policies."
