Jailed ex-PM Imran Khan urges IMF to audit 30% election seats before further bailout talks.
Jailed Pakistan ex-PM Imran Khan has written to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) urging it to ensure an audit of at least 30% of national and provincial assembly seats before considering any further bailout talks with the cash-strapped country. In the letter, Khan claims the authorities rigged the electoral outcome to keep his party out of power. The IMF bailout programme is set to expire in April, and a new government will have to negotiate a long-term arrangement to keep the economy stable.
