Ireland's Dáil approved the extension of child benefit payments to 18-year-olds, originally planned for September 2024, to May 1, 2024. The monthly payment of €140 per child will now apply to eligible 18-year-olds in full-time education or with disabilities. The extension benefits around 60,000 families and applies to children who turned 18 after May 2023, ensuring payments up to their 19th birthday.
