Apple CEO Tim Cook announced plans for the company to "break new ground" in General AI (GenAI) this year, as the tech giant increases its focus on the technology. Apple is said to be working on upgrading Siri and iOS' built-in search tool, Spotlight, with GenAI models, as well as exploring AI-powered features for Keynote, Apple Music, and Xcode. With this increase in focus, the upcoming iPhone 16 models are expected to feature a significantly upgraded Neural Engine, Apple's brand of custom on-device chip for accelerating AI processing.
